Precious Metals

Gold
Gold is the quintessential noble metal: being highly ductile and malleable, it is unsuited in its pure form to the production of jewels or other commonly used items. This is because the very first time it is used, it can lose its shape and any precious stones may be lost. For this reason, gold is usually combined with other metal alloys, in particular copper and/or silver.

Silver
In Italy the minimum requirement for silver alloys which can be sold in finished form is 800 /1000 or purer.

Diamonds

Diamonds and the 4C
All diamonds are rare, but some are rarer than others and therefore more valuable. The features and value of a diamond can be determined by knowing the 4C rule. The best combination of these four characteristics leads to a more valuable diamond.

Diamonds: history and legend
The ancient Greeks believe that diamonds were fragments of stars which had fallen to earth. Others believed that they were God's tears. Legend also had it that there was an inaccessible valley in Central Asia carpeted with diamonds and guarded by birds of prey and snakes with killing eyes on the ground.

How to clean your Jewels.
In order to maintain their brilliance, jewels need special care. As a general rule, they should be cleaned at least once a month to preserve their unique brilliance.
